About

Hello, I’m Zoe, the author of Salt Water Gossip! This blog is specifically about educating the public and whoever is interested in learning about different topics in a variety of fields within the oceanic environment and its inhabitants, also about recent issues that involve our beloved salty waters!! I do my best to post at least twice a month but with on-going medical problems that’s very been difficult for me lately. I am currently studying marine biology and biological oceanography while undergoing treatments. Thank you for your understanding, have a fantastic day!!

What People Say

“We need to respect the oceans and take care of them as if our lives depended on it. Because they do.” Sylivia Earle – (American Marine biologist, explorer, author, and lecturer. She has been a National Geographic explorer-in-residence since 1998. Earle was the first female chief scientist of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and was named by Time Magazine as its first Hero for the Planet in 1998. She is also part of the group Ocean Elders, which is dedicated to protecting the ocean and its wildlife.)
“Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life. Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe, the less taste we shall have for destruction.” Rachel Carson – (Rachel Louise Carson was an American marine biologist, author, and conservationist whose book Silent Spring and other writings are credited with advancing the global environmental movement.)

“No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.”

Jacques Yves Cousteau – (French naval officer, explorer, conservationist, filmmaker, innovator, scientist, photographer, author and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. He co-developed the Aqua-Lung, pioneered marine conservation and was a member of the Académie française.)

Let’s build something together.
